We the Wine People (2026)

Virginia has one of the oldest wine dreams in America and one of its most dynamic modern wine communities. WE THE WINE PEOPLE traces that story through the people who carry it today: winemakers adapting to an unpredictable climate, growers reading the soil and the seasons, sommeliers challenging old perceptions, and community leaders opening doors for a more inclusive industry. Filmed across Virginia's wine regions, the documentary moves between landscape and labor: fog over the mountains, hands in the vineyard, barrel rooms, harvest gatherings, blind tastings, industry events, and intimate conversations with the people behind the bottles. The film explores how a region builds credibility - not only through quality, but through trust, collaboration, education, and the courage to define itself on its own terms. At its heart, WE THE WINE PEOPLE is about the human relationships that make a wine region last. It asks what it means to grow a culture, not just grapes. The result is an elevated, cinematic documentary for wine lovers, food and travel audiences, and anyone drawn to stories of place, identity, community, and craft.
